Love the new work. Are you using spray cans or a paint gun/compressor? I’m also curious about this space. Is it a galley you frequently show at, or your own studio? I’m sure the answers are in your blog, I just got so excited that i could post comments about your work that I didn’t read anything yet. Looks like you’ve been a pretty active artist for awhile. I’m glad/proud/jealous. I have been teaching art in Kansas this year to High School students, and I’m about to move to Bangkok for two years to teach k-12. My own work has changed a lot since I have been teaching, though there isn’t much time, or energy left for making a cohesive show of it. Sometimes I feel like if I had a show out here I would just be flushing my work down the toilet, which is elitist and dumb, but still feels accurate somehow. I can’t tell you how fulfilling it is to watch artists, some of them very good artists, grow underneath my benevolent gaze. I am a hell of a teacher, though I slip up and swear a lot. My finace is an oil painter, and her senior show is opening this week. I’ll send you slides. They are all nude studies. Her main influence was Jenny Saville, who you may be familiar with.
