Painting for me is a practice of active observation. This practice fosters a continually deeper awareness, connection, and ultimately gratitude for the world around me. The success of any given painting is its ability to convey a bit of the value I benefited from creating it to the viewer.
I live in Oakland California with my wife and son, working out of the studio I built under our home nestled around Coastal Live Oak and Redwoods in the Oakland Hills of California.
